One sure sign of spring is the annual Vermontville Maple Syrup Festival.  Vermontville is the place to be for a yummy Saturday breakfast of pancakes and fresh maple syrup.

If you're there on your motorcycle around 9:00 AM on Saturday, April 25th, you likely won't be alone.  Thousands of motorcyclists consider this the kick-off event of the riding season in Michigan.

Check back right here as April gets closer to see if in a group ride is in the works.

Hope to see you there.

Safety Tip of the Month:  Watch Out for Potholes!!!

Yes, it's still February and there is still snow on the ground.  But it won't be long before it melts away and we'll all be dusting off our BMWs for the first rides of spring.  Now is the time to start preparing mentally for those first spring rides.

Keep your eyes open for those nasty spring potholes.  They're bad news in a car, but even more dangerous for motorcyclists.  Start looking for them right now to protect your car and your first ride.

Local road crews do their best, but it often takes several months before they can attend to all of the roads in the area - especially the more rural roads many of us favor.

And also be on the lookout for excess debris along the sides of the road, where plows have pushed aside snow, ice, sand, salt, animal remains and whatever else landed in the middle of the road over the winter months.  Pay special attention to corners.  Get in the habit of looking for roadside debris right now.

Be safe and have a great ride!

BMW Club of Battle Creek Annual Christmas Party

More than 30 club members and guests were on hand for the annual BMW Club of Battle Creek Christmas Party (and December club meeting).  Those in attendance enjoyed a delicious meal served up by the nice folks at  Schuler's  in Marshall, MI.

Thank you and congratulations to Connie A. for organizing a very enjoyable evening.

Camp Out 2014

If you missed the annual camp out at Camp Fort Hill in October, you missed a fantastic weekend of fun, friends and feasting.  Connie S. organized fabulous meals, Marcie planned and judged a camp-themed scavenger hunt and good friends gathered around the fire to tell stories and work puzzles.

Make sure you don't miss it in 2015.  Get it on your calendar right now - it will be the first weekend in October, just like it is every year.
